Klaatu - Farewell To The Master

Authors inspire me constantly. I read Harry Bates' "Farewell to the Master," and instantly fell in love. I NEEDED to create his characters in my own way. So I set to work. This is my first rendition of Klaatu, the 'beautiful space visitor' as Bates put it. I wanted to go for a portrait style painting, and since this was my first real project on Procreate- I decided to pull all the stops and see what I could do with the tools at my disposal. When I design characters based on pre-existing media, specifically books-- I try to put things on the canvas just as I see them in my head while I read. So that's what I did here with Klaatu. I hope I could create a Klaatu that would do the story justice.
